NOTES
Additional Information:This one-story, side-gabled, Cape Cod-style house is sheathed with limestone. The structure is largely obscured
by trees and bushes of the associated landscaping business at this location; however, a pair of eyebrow windows
is evident along the roofline. A recessed doorway appears to be located at the approximate center, with a
tripmtite picture window located to the right (north) and two, single, double-hung sash to the right (south). The
gabled peaks of the upper half-story is sheathed with board siding.

Assessor's records identify a construction date of 1948 for the home and a 1951 city directory identifies the
home as owned by contractor Edwin L. Krueger and his wife Gerda. However, by no later than the early 1970s,
the house was purchased by Oscar and Beatrice Sturm who moved in from their former home at 1503 S. Oneida
Street (see previous description) and the property was incorporated into their Fox Valley Nursery business.
Oscar died in 1992 and the home, which is still owned by the Sturm family, continues to be associated with the
nursery.

The Cape Cod house appears to retain a good degree of its original
integrity of design and materials. Despite that good degree of integrity, it is a modest example and does not
offer the character that might otherwise suggest National Register potential. A DOE is not recommended.
