NOTES
Additional Information:2023: The Beloit Clinic is a one-story, Contemporary-style commercial building constructed in 1955. It is of brick masonry construction with a rectangular plan on a poured concrete foundation. The flat roof is covered with metal sheeting and features an interior brick chimney. The front (east) facade features a stone veneer-clad vestibule with a glass and metal window wall and recessed side entryway with a set of metal doors. The majority of the windows are fixed, single-light, metal ribbon sash with stone sills. The remainder are replacement, fixed, single-light, vinyl picture windows. A long, rear addition was added c.1960. A subsequent large block addition was added off the rear elevation c.1970. The building originally served as the Beloit Clinic and Baird’s Prescription Shop pharmacy from 1955 until c.1980, when the clinic moved to 1905 Huebbe Parkway. By 1984 it was occupied by the Wisconsin Job Service and served as a job service office under varying names until 1999. The property was then sold to the non-denominational Beloit New Life Church, which used the rear half of the building as Rock River Christian College, an adult education program offering theology and religious study courses for pastors, missionaries, and Sunday school teachers, up until the college closed in 2020. The church still occupies the building and uses it as a worship and community space.
