NOTES
Additional Information:2016- "The John Irwin General Store is two stories tall and was built in the false front commercial style c.1900. It is of frame construction, sheathed in vertical wood siding, and rests on a concrete block foundation. Asphalt shingles cover the front gable roof and it houses a central interior brick chimney. The building features an intact recessed storefront along the first story of the front (south) facade; a one-story shed roof porch extends along the facade and is supported by replacement posts and decorative railings. Second-story windows consist of replacement, one-over-one, double-hung sash on the facade and side (west) elevation. A large, two-story, c.1970, false front addition stands east of the historic portion of the building and a one-story, c.1925 addition is located along the rear (north) elevation.

The store was originally run by John Irwin. Around 1940 William J. Ortman took ownership and it became Ortman’s General Store for 10 years. More recently the store operated as an antique shop; however, the owner downsized his collections in 2015 and the storefront is no longer open to the public."
