Additional Information: | This 3-story Mediterranean Revival apartment complex was constructed c.1925. The complex consists of two separate buildings. Both buildings are rectangular in plan with red brick walls and flat roofs with red tile detailing along the front roofline. A shared courtyard is located in the space between buildings. The southern building (2628 N. Humboldt Blvd.) contains pairs of 1-over-1 windows with rounded arch crowns in the center bays; twisted columns with decorative finials separate the two center bays with red tile pent roofs above each. Outer bays at the first story contain banks of three windows under segmentally arched crowns; the window banks consist of diamond-patterned 1-over-1 windows on the outside with single-pane diamond-patterned windows at the center. Remaining windows are multi-pane double-hung and fixed-sash. Balconies project from the third stories of the outer bays; the balconies have turned wood railings and squared wood supports with red-tiled shed roofs. Decorative brickwork spans the width of the façade below the roofline. |
