Additional Information: | This 3-story Mediterranean Revival apartment complex was constructed c.1925. The complex consists of two separate buildings. Both buildings are rectangular in plan with red brick walls and flat roofs with red tile detailing along the front roofline. A shared courtyard is located in the space between buildings. The northern building (2630 N. Humboldt Blvd.) has flared wing walls extending from both front corners. Windows in the west elevation consists of eight 6-over-6 windows with 6-pane transoms; the outer pairs of windows have stone surrounds while the center windows share a red tiled pent roof. Second- and third-story windows are pairs of 6-over-6 with the outer windows at the third story contained within decorative stone surrounds that feature twisted engaged columns and elaborate crowns. Decorative brickwork spans the width of the façade below the tiled roofline. A round tower projects from the building’s south elevation; this contains balconies at the second and third stories and a wooden entry door at the first story. |
