NOTES
Additional Information:In 1974, the De Pere Housing Authority built a housing complex for the elderly and for low-income families consisting of 53-unit two-story apartment building (AHI# 233996) and 6 single family homes. In addition, 9 additional new single family homes located on various parcels scattered throughout the city were also completed earlier in the same year. All the houses and the main building were designed by the Green Bay firm of Nichols & Barone, and all of the houses are essentially identical in design, 11 having three bedrooms, three having four bedrooms, and one having five, and all of these buildings have Contemporary Style designs. In addition, a 32-unit two-story building built to a design by Somerville Assoc. was built in 1981 and it is attached to the original two-story building by a long one-story-tall enclosed passageway. AHI# 233996 consists of the 53-unit building and the 1981 32-unit addition. All the single family houses have their own individual AHI records and are known as De Pere Housing Authority Houses. Note: all of the houses and the two Nicolet Terrace buildings were originally sided in rough cedar boards that were subsequently replaced with the current (2025) siding.
