Additional Information: | This brick-veneered structural clay tile astylistic utilitarian building was erected as the Parkway Theater in 1923-24. Built for Alfred Peterson, the building also housed a dance hall. The Parkway Theater hosted movies, lectures, and vaudeville shows. Leo Sutter and Gunnar Larson bought the property in 1951 and moved their electrical appliances business, Majestic Sales, into the building. Sutter and Larson extensively remodeled the building to house their showroom. The building was converted to a tavern for Hugo Fink in 1970. It has housed the offices of Jenny Johnson, realtor, since at least 1996. |
