Additional Information: | 2019 - Holy Cross Lutheran Church was completed in 1970, with a large side addition in 2004 to add office spaces. The core of the building is an example of the Neo-Expressionist style of modern architecture, which was most commonly applied to religious buildings. It is clad in a mixture of brick and wood paneling, with large expanses of glass on the facade. The primary entrance is accessed through a covered walkway topped with a larger timber-framed pyramidal bell tower. The sanctuary features a dramatic steeply-pitched and multi-tiered pyramidal roof with a clerestory window. To the side and rear of the building’s core are rectangular one-story gabled wings, the largest of which is the aforementioned addition constructed in 2004. |
