NOTES
Additional Information:2018-
The Kilsdonk Bridge, also known as the Buchanan Road Bridge, is located in the Town of Vandenbroek in Outagamie County. It was built in 1908. The engineer was John H. Hayes, and the contractor was Henry Sprister.

The structure is a rubble-limestone, segmental-arch bridge with long, slightly flared approaches and sloped stone railings averaging about 30 inches in height, covered with a metal coping. Springing from the waterline, the arch rises about 4 feet 6 inches over a span of about 30 feet 6 inches. Cast-iron drain spouts are set in the spandrel walls. There are not cutwaters or ornamental keystones. The bridge’s length, including the flared approaches, is about 111 ft.; its width at the middle about 20 ft. The structure is a good, intact example of the region’s rubble-limestone bridge tradition.

The most prolific bridge designer in Outagamie County was John H. Hayes, a civil engineer from Appleton, who prepared plans and supervised construction for 19 of stone-arch structures in Outagamie County, including the Kilsdonk Bridge.
