Additional Information: | The home located at W10343 STH 21 is a single family, two story, upright and wing that was built ca. 1920. The roof is metal, and the siding is wood clapboard. An enclosed entry way with a side gabled, west facing entrance marks the front façade. There are large double hung windows on the first and second stories. The foundation has been covered with insulation, but it is resumed to be field stone or stone block. A front gabled, detached single car garage sits to the east of the house. It also appears to have wood clapboard siding. The farm buildings are located to the rear of the house. These buildings include a general purpose, side gabled pole barn with a metal roof in poor condition. There is a small, side gabled shed with a low hanging roof off the front most likely used for storage. A small pyramidal building, presumably the milk house is in poor condition. A large bank barn with a gambrel roof sits away from the smaller outbuildings. There appears to be a stone foundation and most likely has two stories: the lower story would have housed livestock and the upper story would have housed the hay crop. A large cinder block silo sits next to the barn. Two other single-story outbuildings sit next to the large barn. Most likely they were used for storage and shelter of animals. A windmill still stands in the center of the farm buildings. |
