It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. RETURNED EAVES. DORIC COLUMNS ON PORCH. Palms was a millwright at the Hudson Sawmill Company. Upper floor of house was destroyed by fire in 1928. House was remodelled to current configuration at that time.[A] 2018 The one-and-one-half-story, rectangular-plan, vernacular residence was constructed in 1900. The walls are clad in replacement, wide-lap, wood siding and rest on a rusticated concrete-block foundation. The side gable is covered in asphalt shingles and features an off-center brick chimney and returned eaves. The front (west) facade features a partial enclosed porch on the southwest corner with a wood balustrade and round columns. A three-part picture window on the northwest corner features a stained-glass transom. Other windows are replacement, one-over-one, double-hung, wood sash. The building is obscured by foliage and difficult to photograph in the field.
