Additional Information: | 2019 -- HRL -- It is difficult to know unequivocally if this structure was originally constructed as a service station or not, given a lack of available information, though it is thought (based on observation) quite likely that it was. The one-story building is located on the west side of STH 13 and oriented on a north/south axis. Its roof line is varied, though it is essentially a nominally flared hipped roof with a centered, hipped roof projection to the east in which an office was likely located. A door is centered in the east-facing wall of projection and flanked with large, one-light windows, one of which is also found on each sidewall of the projection. An overhead garage door in the primary east wall of the building is found to either side of the office projection. The south wall claims a pedestrian door to the east, immediately west of which are three, glass block windows. There are no openings in the north wall. Four glass block windows are located on the back of the building. All windows have concrete sills and the structure is sheathed with variegated quarried stone. |
