NOTES
Additional Information:This building on the historic Mike Hensgen farmstead. While the house, this and another small outbuilding stand in Section 9, most of the farm buildings stand in Section 10.
This small livestock shelter was built in 1930. It is set on the south side of the driveway between the house and barn. It is not clear if the structure is concrete or frame, but it stands on a concrete foundation. Its saltbox roof has asphalt shingles and the walls are clad in modern vertical wood paneling. The east wall has a single doorway with historic wood and glass door, a small window, and a projecting metal chimney pipe. A large sliding door stands on the south wall, which opens to a small stockyard. The building has recently been updated with a new window, chimney, and wall and roof cladding, all of which are generally in keeping with its historic appearance. A 1974 image of the farm indicates the south elevation originally had a single door with two windows.
This building is not individually eligible. The farmstead as a whole is also recommended not eligible for listing in the NRHP.
