Additional Information: | This building stands on the historic Mike Hensgen farmstead. While the house and two small outbuildings stand in Section 9, this and most of the farm buildings stand in Section 10. This garage was built ca 1930. The rectangular plan building has concrete block walls and a barrel roof with asphalt shingles. A large garage door is set in its north gable-end and a single wood-and-glass pedestrian door is set in the west wall. The rear south wall has a small wood door and a historic 3-over-2 wood window just beneath the roofline. The gable-ends have wood lap cladding. A concrete pad stands off the rear wall; its original use is unknown. A 1974 image of the farm indicates this was once connected to the gable roof garage with a shed roof bay. This building is not individually eligible. The farmstead as a whole is also recommended not eligible for listing in the NRHP. |
