Additional Information: | September 2020: Part of the resource is the remains of a farmstead, while the modern structures are associated with Pearce’s Sausage Kitchen. The resource is surrounded by agricultural fields to the east, south, and west, and Little Beartrap Creek is located to the south. #242143 includes a dwelling, outbuilding, equipment garage, and multiple modern structures associated with Pearce’s Sausage Kitchen. The dwelling is a circa 1920 Gabled Ell, T-plan structure with an asphalt shingle roof and replacement vinyl siding. The foundation is obscured by plywood skirting. The windows are all vinyl replacements consisting of one-over-one and single-pane picture windows. The entrance is accessed via a hipped-roof porch on the north elevation within the ell of the original block. The dwelling features two gabled additions on the original east elevation. The first is a circa 1940 addition, and the second is a circa 1980 garage addition continuing the roofline of the circa 1940 block. To the southeast of the dwelling is a circa 2000 equipment garage with a front-gabled metal roof and metal siding. To the south of the equipment garage is a circa 1940 outbuilding with an asphalt shingle gabled roof and Masonite hardboard siding. The upper gable end of the northern elevation features board-and-batten siding. The outbuilding’s south elevation has a cross-gabled extension with materials that match the main block. The outbuilding is in poor condition. To the east of the equipment garage are four modern structures that house Pearce’s Sausage Kitchen. They were built between 2010 and 2020 and have metal gabled roofs and metal siding (GoogleEarth 2020). Unless otherwise stated, the structures associated with #242143 are in good condition. |
