NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. The dairy barn is located northwest of the original house and was constructed in 1901. It consists of a large gable-roofed mass; a shorter, shed-roofed mass that runs the length of the west elevation (part of the original construction); a c.1950 milk house that projects from the barn’s northeast corner; and the concrete foundation of a nonextant wood stave silo. The barn is rectangular in plan with a concrete-clad fieldstone foundation, board and batten walls, and an asphalt-shingled gable roof with a small cupola projecting from the center of the roof peak. Added in 2007 as a replacement for the original (which was lost sometime before 1958), the rectangular cupola is of frame construction with louvered panel walls, and an asphalt-shingled pyramidal roof from which projects a small metal weathervane; the year “1845” is displayed on the east side of the cupola.
