Additional Information: | Two outbuildings are located behind (west of) the McGowan House (see AHI 14844). These include a carriage barn and a privy. The carriage barn is a front-gabled building with a rectangular plan, clapboard walls, and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The front elevation faces east and contains an overhanging second story. Below this is a wide, hinged door of board construction with an adjacent 6-pane, fixed-sash window. The second story contains a window opening covered by a hinged door of board construction; a 4-pane, fixed-sash window is located below the gable. The privy is rectangular in plan with a stone foundation, clapboard walls, and an asphalt-shingled side-gabled roof. The front elevation faces east and contains two wood panel doors. Small ventilation windows are located below the gable ends. |
