Additional Information: | 2021 - The Del-Bar is a one-story Contemporary-style restaurant building with some late Prairie School influences. The original section of the building was designed by James Dresser, a protégé of Frank Lloyd Wright, and was constructed in the early 1950s. That building has largely been consumed by additions in 1963, 1982, 1990, and 2004. In its current form, the single-story building has a broad, irregular footprint (a result of the various additions) with stucco cladding and both flat roof and side-gabled sections. Additional features include outdoor seating areas, plate glass windows, and a large, rough stone chimney mimicking the appearance of the unique Dells rock formations. A large, modern triangular sign reading “The Del Bar” is on a tall post near the road. |
