Additional Information: | This 2-story Queen Anne house was constructed c.1890. It is rectangular in plan with red brick walls and an asphalt-shingled gable roof. The front elevation faces east and is asymmetrical in composition with a projecting front-gabled mass comprising the southern half of the façade and a 2-story bay set back from this at the northern end of the façade. A 1-story, hipped-roof porch spans the width of the projecting mass as well as the bay north of this and wraps around the northeast corner of the building. The porch features a low-pitched gablet over the front steps, a dentilated frieze band around the perimeter of the roof, smooth wooden support columns, and turned wood balusters. Inside the porch is a large picture window with a single-pane transom (in the face of the projecting front-gable mass) and a single door (in the face of the 2-story corner bay). The second story contains two 1-over-1 windows in the projecting mass and a single 1-over-1 window with a segmentally-arched crown in the 2-story bay; this 2-story bay is capped by a pyramidal roof with flared eaves and a diminutive dormer in its front roof slope. The wall below the gable of the projecting mass is clad in aluminum siding. A flared brick chimney projects from the roof of the main building mass. A large 2-story addition that nearly doubles the size of the original building has been constructed off its west elevation. |
