Additional Information: | This 2-story Commercial Vernacular building was constructed c.1900 with extensive remodeling in 2016. It is rectangular in plan with simulated clapboard siding across the façade (over the original cast stone) and a flat roof. The front elevation faces west and is asymmetrical in composition due to uneven fenestration across the first story. A central doorway is flanked by two single-pane shop windows on one side and three single-pane shop windows on the other side. The storefront is sheltered under a large wood and metal awning. The second story contains three pairs of simulated 3-over-1 windows. Each of these second story bays is separated by “pilasters” of the same siding material as the surrounding wall space; these terminate in heavy brackets that adorn a projecting cornice. Smaller brackets are located between these large brackets. A signboard reading “BLANCHARD HALL” is located above the windows of the center bay. |
