NOTES
Additional Information:Initially served as general store and post office; later, Bill Robb's restaurant. This 2-story Commercial Vernacular building was constructed in 1856. It is rectangular in plan with a stone foundation, stone walls, and a flat roof. The front elevation faces west and is symmetrical in composition with a recessed center entrance flanked by large multi-pane shop windows on each side. Although the shop windows are replacements, they occupy the original shop window openings and are period appropriate in appearance. The recessed door also contains multi-pane glazing. A wood or iron lintel spans the storefront above the windows and entry recess. Above the storefront, at the second story, are two singly-placed 6-over-6 windows with stone sills and lintels. A projecting metal cornice with heavy end brackets and two smaller center brackets defines the roofline. The exposed northern elevation contains a 4-over-4 window and single entry at the east end of the first story and four irregularly spaced 6-over-6 windows at the second story; all windows feature stone sills and lintels. The end caps of several iron tie rods are visible at locations along the north elevation.
