Additional Information: | 2022: Turner Farms consists of a farmhouse and several agricultural outbuildings. The historic age resources on the property include the house, corn crib, barn, shed, pump house, three silos, a machine shed, and several wire grain bins. Resources constructed after 1980 include a metal Quonset hut, a silo, machine shed, animal barn, and storage building. The c. 1860 farmhouse (AHI #244863) is one story, has a stone foundation, and has a side-gabled roof with a broken rear slope that forms a shed-roof bay across the rear. The main entrance is covered by an open half-hipped-roof porch with simple posts and railings, and the secondary entrance on the south (side) elevation is covered by a small gable front roof supported by simple wood posts. The roof is sheathed in metal with standing seams and the house is clad in vinyl replacement siding. There is a c. 1975 two-story addition extending from the north elevation. The side-gabled addition has an asphalt shingled roof and concrete foundation. Windows are one-over-one, double hung replacements. |
