NOTES
Additional Information:2022: Kamp Dakota is a former campground that consists of a central lodge, an entrance sign, two sheds, and a landscaped campground. The c. 1970 lodge included the laundry, toilets, showers, and a store for camp supplies. It is a Contemporary-style, T-plan building with board and batten siding and an intersecting gable roof sheathed in asphalt shingles. The gable ends are clad in vertical boards with scalloped edges. There are entrances on every elevation of the building. The entrance on the southwest (side) elevation is topped by a gabled, steeply pitched wall dormer. A c. 1975 pole barn is located east of the lodge. It has a concrete foundation, corrugated metal siding and a front-gabled roof. The sign at the edge of the driveway displays the red and white stripped teepee associated with the Kamp Dakota franchise. At the time of survey, the sign and an adjacent indistinguishable structure were almost completely hidden by overgrowth. Despite overgrowth around the property, the designed campground landscape remains mostly clear and accessible.
