Additional Information: | 2022: The Cascade Mountain Ski Resort is a 176-acre downhill ski resort featuring 48 trails and 11 lifts. Construction began on the resort in 1961 and it opened in early 1962. The property contains several buildings including the c. 1985 Peak Lodge, c. 1999 Daisy Lodge, c. 2000 Rob’s Roost, and c. 2014 Tube Town. The historic age buildings on the property are the Snowstar Chalet and the Rental and Repair Shop. Construction on the Snowstar Chalet was completed in 1962. The one-story Contemporary-style building has an octagonal footprint comprised of eight A-frame gables, with alternating narrow and wide peaks, extending from a central chimney. The base of the building is constructed of concrete block and there are vertical wood boards and rounded logs in some of the gable ends. The four wider gable ends each contain eight single light windows in two different sizes that are arranged in a stepped pattern. The main entrance is located in the north gable. At the time of survey, a one-story, round log sided building with a shed roof was located in front of the Chalet. |
