NOTES
Additional Information:2022: The majority of the park structures, restrooms, paved roads, and parking lots are concentrated in the northern section of the park, adjacent to Interfalls Lake. The Shelter Building and Bath House are the most prominent Rustic style buildings in the park. They are located on the east side of STH 35 and are surrounded by a mown lawn which contains picnic tables, water fountains, charcoal grills, a sand volleyball court, pet area, and beach. Southeast of the Bath House is the circular campground area, which is accessed by asphalt roads that run through the inner and outer loops of the campground. Within the campground are two sets of pit toilets and a modern shower building. A small service area just south of the campground contains a garage and service building, accessed by Town Road 91. Big Manitou Falls is located on the west side of STH 35 and accessed on foot by a pedestrian tunnel. On the east side of the river, a short section of the Big Manitou Falls Trail leads to two overlooks. The trail is carried over the river by the Black River Bridge, a wood arch bridge, and continues along the west side of the river leading to a small parking lot, modern restroom, and two more overlooks. From the Shelter Building, the Beaver Trail hiking path meanders along both sides of the lake and river, meeting at a bridge about halfway between the falls. The bridge has been reconstructed but is called CCC Bridge, and was likely originally constructed by the CCC, although this is not confirmed. From there, the Little Manitou Falls Trail travels along the west side of the river, past Little Manitou Falls to a paved parking lot and picnic spot with a modern restroom. The parking lot is accessed by a paved road off of STH 35. The Overlook Trial hiking path begins at Town Road 91 and travels through the forested area east of the Black River and connects to two additional hiking paths. The River View Trail meanders through the southeast section of the park. The Oak Ridge Trail travel southwest towards Little Manitou Falls and leads to the Backpack Camp Area. The camp contains a pair of pit toilets and there is a small trail shelter north of the camp. Portions of the hiking paths contain stone and wood pathways, footbridges, various wood bridges, wooden stairs, and wood and stone railings. It is assumed that much of this was put in place by the CCC.
