NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. RAISED BRICK FOUNDATION. STANDARD PASSENGER DEPOT PLAN W/BAY ALONG TRACK SIDE. 2023: Formerly the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce. Constructed in 1923, this building served as the passenger depot for the Chicago and North Western Railroad from its completion in 1923 until passenger service, including summer service, was discontinued by 1968. After freight service ended in 1980, the city of Eagle River purchased the depot. It was remodeled for use as the new municipal information bureau, while a portion of the building was utilized by the local police department, until each relocated to a new building. Following a few years use by the River Valley State Bank, the depot stood vacant from 2003 until 2006, after which it was restored. The building has since been utilized as a museum run by the Eagle River Historical Society.
