Additional Information:Structure B-12-005 is a six-span. Deck Girder, Deck Truss bridge of riveted steel construction. The bridge measures 639.5-feet-long and has a 28.5-foot-wide, cast in place concrete deck. Steel beams below the decking are supported by poured concrete abutments and piers. The bridge’s truss design features two 157-foot-long Deck Truss spans having seven vertical members and seven diagonals on each elevation, and one 170-foot-long Deck Truss span having nine vertical members and ten diagonal members, all of which are connected with riveted steel plates. The subject structure was constructed in 1956 and carries State Highway 82 over the BN RR/Winnesheik Slough. Since that time work on the bridge has generally included repairs, painting, and preventative maintenance.
