Additional Information: | This tall bank barn stands at the southeast corner of Lake Road and Union Road. The house and large garage are modern replacements, and there are no other extant historic farmstead elements at the property. The barn is set on the west end of the property. It has a stone base, which is exposed on three sides, vertical wood plank walls, and a gambrel roof. The roof has metal cladding and two large cupola vents. A vented window is set in the peak of the gable-end. The side walls are not fenestrated, and a sliding door is set on the east elevation; it is accessed by a concrete ramp. The small windows and door in the basement are broken or boarded over. The 1868 and 1895 county atlases depict a homestead at this location; in both publications the parcel was owned by E. Russel. |
