Additional Information: | This 2-story Colonial Revival house was constructed c.1920. It is rectangular in plan with clapboard siding and an asphalt-shingled side-gabled roof. The front elevation faces south and is symmetrical in composition with a central entrance consisting of a glazed front door with matching sidelights sheltered under a front-gabled entry porch with squared columnar supports. Single pairs of 1-over-1 windows are located on each side of the entry porch. The second story contains three small, regularly-spaced pairs of 1-over-1 windows. All windows have decorative shutters. A brick chimney runs the height of the building on its west elevation and projects through the roofline. With the exception of a small stone shed (possibly a smokehouse) which stands adjacent to the house, agricultural outbuildings associated with this property were located on the opposite side of CTH U. All of these have been demolished, with the most recent loss (the demolition of the historic dairy barn complex) occurring in 2023. |
