NOTES
Additional Information:2023: The farmstead stands at the southeast corner of County Road P and Olstad Road in the southeast quarter of Section 35 in the Town of Washington, La Crosse County. Historic-age resources include a house (246117), basement barn (246118), tobacco barn (246119), and two small agricultural outbuildings. Non-historic resources include a large machine shed, shed, and garage. A log outbuilding has been removed since 2012. The house is a two-story side-gabled vernacular form constructed circa 1880. The house consists of the principal side-gabled volume and a one-story rear gabled wing. The principal (north) facing elevation has been altered with a one-story full-width enclosed gable roof porch. The original cladding has been covered or replaced with aluminum siding, and the original windows have been replaced with one-over-one hung sash windows. A The original T-shaped plan has been altered by additions to the west and south elevations of the rear wing. The Farmstead is associated with agricultural practice of combined dairy production and tobacco cultivation in the Coon Creek Valley and the broader Northern Tobacco District.
