Additional Information: | 2023: The one-story, rectangular-plan Stetsonville Elementary School was constructed in 1977. It is clad in brick and has a flat roof with a metal fascia. The rear portion of the building has a raised, flat roof. The main double-door entrance on the front (south) facade is recessed. Fenestration consists of paired, fixed windows with wood paneling above and below the window. A front-gable shed with side paneling is at the rear of the property. The opening of the 35,125-square-foot school consolidated several one- and two-room schoolhouses in the area. It cost $870,000 and included 13 classrooms, a multi-purpose room, resource center, kitchen, and storage areas. The general contractor was Steel Structures, based in Medford. The school was dedicated in September 1977 and served 270 students—kindergarten through sixth grade—at the time of its opening. It serves approximately 240 students today. |
