NOTES
Additional Information:This small front-gable garage is set on the east side of property. Same cladding treatment as the house, narrow lap siding. Asphalt shingles. Doors on front (west) elevation are obscured, and no other doors or fenestration visible. Assessor records do not indicate what year this was built. Due to its position amongst a cluster of trees, this garage is not discernible in historic aerial photographs. This building is one of several historic-age resources on this farmstead. It is likely this farmstead was established sometime after the house was built in 1910 and before 1938, but dates of construction could not be ascertained from a review of historic resources. The 1909 and 1928 county atlases include the portions of Rudolph Township that are south of the Wisconsin River (Sections 34, 35, and 36) with the Grand Rapids maps. The 1909 and 1928 atlases did not depict any houses or structures in the northeast quadrant of Section 35 where this farmstead stands. In 1909 this property stood on a 157.9-acre parcel owned by August Kempfert; in 1928 it was owned by Consolidated Paper & Pulp Co. Both maps depicted a homestead on the parcel, but it was set to the west of this property in the northwest quadrant of Section 35. The 1948 and 1957 county atlases do not label any landowners or depict houses in sections 34, 35, and 36; “Village of Biron” is the only notation on the Rudolph Township maps.
