NOTES
Additional Information:Located at the northwestern corner of the 2,719-acre Totogatic Wildlife Area, the Totogatic Dam was constructed in 1953 and carries an abandoned segment of Wozny Road over the Totogatic River (in 2017, Wozny Road was rerouted to cross the Totogatic River over a new bridge located about 200 feet west of the dam). The dam is of reinforced concrete construction and measures approximately 70 feet in length and 10 feet in width with concrete abutments at each end. Seven bays utilize stoplogs to control the flow of water, though recent WisDNR inspection reports indicate that rusted and damaged stoplog guides (mounted to the east faces of each concrete pier) have prevented the ability to actively control water levels since the 1980s. The deck of the dam is of reinforced concrete construction with shallow concrete coping along both sides and no railings or parapet walls; drainage holes are located at regular intervals in the concrete coping along the west side of the deck and are centered above each bay. Some isolated graffiti is visible along the inside faces of the concrete piers.
