Additional Information: | 2024: The William and Amelia Falk Farmstead, located at 3392 Falk Road, consists of a house, barn, silo, and four outbuildings. The house, barn, pump house, machine shed, granary, and silo were all constructed around 1900, when the farmstead was first established. The house is a two-story, vernacular, gabled-ell structure that has been modified with replacement siding, replacement windows, and prominent additions. It is clad in vinyl siding and topped with a standing seam metal roof. The barn is a two-story, side-gabled, basement barn with a large, central opening on the north elevation (façade). It has a fieldstone foundation, board and batten siding, and is topped by an asphalt shingled roof. A one-story, side-gabled, and wood shingle clad addition extends from its southeast corner. At the southwest corner, a one-story, side-gabled frame building with wood siding connects the barn to the concrete stave silo. South of the barn is a two-story granary. It rests on stone pilings, is clad in vertical, metal standing seam siding, and is topped by a side gabled roof sheathed in asphalt shingles. The granary abuts the machine shed, which is a one-story, side gabled structure constructed of field stone with thick mortar joints and topped with a large concrete frieze. The gable ends are clad in wood siding and the roof is sheathed in asphalt shingles. Both the granary and the machine shed are accessed by openings on the north elevation, and both also feature multi-pane wood windows. Directly east of the machine shed is a one-story, side-gabled pumphouse. It is constructed of fieldstone with thick mortar joints and topped by a roof sheathed in asphalt shingles. The gable ends are clad in wood siding and there is a brick chimney on the north elevation. Southeast of the pumphouse is a one-story, front-gabled barn, constructed in the 1960s. It is a frame structure with particle board cladding. North of the pumphouse is a garage, also constructed in the 1960s. It is a front-gable structure clad in vinyl siding. |
