Additional Information: | FIRST BLDG BUILT IN 1920 WITH MORE ADDED AT NEW SITE IN 1938 TWO LOG STRUCTURES AND OTHER RELATED STRUCTURES THE LAST FISHING CAMP TO OPERATE ON THE APOSTLE ISLANDS HADLAND FROM NORWAY IN 1905* [Date Cnst:(A)]. THIS GROUP OF BUILDINGS CONTAINS TWO LOG STRUCTURES AND NUMEROUS FRAME BUILDINGS. Extant structures in the camp include Fried's Cabin (contributing, referred to as Building A in the individual nomination), a privy (non-contributing), the net reel yard (contributing), the float drying platform (contributing) and a wooden bench (non-contributing). Structures listed in the individual nomination that are no longer extant (2008) include: Hadland Cabin (Building C), Erickson's storage shed (Building D), Hadland Family Cabin (Building B), and the ice house (Building E). The camp has been unoccupied since the Hadland brothers vacated in 1998. |
