This two-story rustic styled ranger station features a rectangular shaped plan configuration, a concrete foundation, a wood frame construction, horizontal half log board and vertical board exterior, wood trim, and an asphalt shingled gable roof. Dormers intersect with the main ridgeline in the attic story. The interior is finished with plaster and is partially painted; the floor is maple covered with linoleum. The structure is in good condition. The Mercer Ranger Station has functioned as the offices for forest protection, forestry and law enforcement. The existing structure is still in use today. The upstairs contains offices, while the downstairs contains both offices and a lobby. The basement is full. Associated buildings, a garage and two storage buildings, exist on the site. |
