It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. Constructed toward the end of the nineteenth century. this house repeats massing and ornamentation typical of late picturesque style residences. The house is two stories in height, and was apparently constructed in two stages. The main L-shaped building (composed of two intersecting gable roofed units) rests on a stone foundation. The foundation of the two story block affixed to the east consists of rusticated concrete block. A vestibule and porch are situated at the conjunction of the wings. An arched canopy defines the porch area, no posts support the eave. The gable end of the facade contains a spindle work ornament. |
