It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Projecting entrance porch with gable roof. Distinctive example of the Neo-Classical Revival style. Stylistic features include a large pedimented porch with a denticulated entablature and colossal Ionic columns, and a fan window above the entrance. The building is slightly set back from the street and impressive symmetrical approaches complement the grandeur of the building. Ten prominent Wausau men incorporated the Wausau Club and built the clubhouse for social and business meetings. During the first few years, liquor and cigarettes were banned and women could not hold membership. |
