Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Originally, there were two distinct three-story buildings, constructed in 1866. The fourth floor and mansard roof were in 1879, uniting the buildings into a single block. Renovations are to take place. Locally designated 11-17-87. Part I Approved 5-21-91. Another map name is 4th Aldermanic District 236. Also addressed as 400-08 E. Wisconsin Avenue. Previously surveyed in 1984 with map code 146/7. Map name was LUQS #393.
