THIS FIRM MADE SHEET METAL BUILDING PRODUCTS SUCH AS METAL LATH, RAIN GUTTERS, PORTABLE METAL GARAGES, AND SHEET METAL ROOFING SHINGLES. LUEDKE WAS BORN IN MILWAUKEE ON MAY 18, 1884 TO HERMAN AUGUST AND EMMA (PRITZLAFF) LUEDKE. AUGUST WAS EDUCATED IN MILWAUKEE'S PAROCHIAL AND PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND LATER AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN-MADISON. WHERE HE GRADUATED IN 1907. IN 1906 HE WENT TO WORK FOR THE MILWAUKEE CORRUGATING CO. HE ALSO WAS ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CONCORDIA FIRE INSURANCE CO. HE MARRIED ANITA GOLL IN 1915 AND THEY HAD 1 CHILD, MARGARET. AUGUST LIVED HERE UNTIL HE DIED IN THE 1950S; ANITA CONTINUED TO LIVE HERE UNTIL AT LEAST 1975. Photo code is CW3-25. First story walls are solid masonry. Second story walls are wood frame. |
