Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This is one of the fine designs inspired by the Colonial Revival. The basic design is fairly common in Oshkosh, each individual structure is differentiated by amount and handling or ornament. This design is more complex than most, with a balance achieved between vertical and horizontal elements. The strong horizontal porch (constructed of limestone piers and Doric columns) abuts a circular one story corner bay. The roof line is broken at various levels by dormers. Ornament is classically inspired and carefully scaled to complement the large volumes of the building. |
