NOTES
Additional Information:This two story Colonial Revival styled house features a square shaped plan configuraiton, a brick foundation, a brick exterior, a brick and wood trim and an asphalt shingled hip roof. The hip roof is high pitched and is accented in the front by an attic dormer. Directly beneath this dormer is a central projecting gabled bay, whose elements include a bargeboard, a gable pendant and a round arched stone surround. The round arched theme continues on the first story front windows which flank the entrance bay. Decorative brickwork distinguishes these arches, each of which rises well above the door or windows it surrounds. A brick string course is visible on the second story. The residence was built in 1928 and is in fair condition. (See Bib. Ref. A). It is related to a garage, a building of which no description was given in the Intensive Survey Form. Architectural/Engineering Significance: This property meets cirteria C of the National Register requriements because the property retains enough of the character that it had when the town of Barton was growing and developing. This building contributes to the whole character of the Barton Historic Distirct. (According to the Intensive Survey Form, this dwelling was considered in 1987 to be contributing to the then proposed Barton Historic District).
