Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Additional Comments, 2025: Architecture: This house is a two-story English Revival style building with a gabled ell form. It has an intersecting jerkinhead gable roof and projecting shed-roofed dormers. The house is constructed of light brown bricks and is decorated with extensive rusticated stone veneer trim that includes large corner quoins, tabbed window surrounds, and round arches. On the rear elevation is a small section of decorative half timbering on the second story. The window openings are irregular in size and placement and most are filled with multi-light casements. Some are paired or grouped in threes. Several window openings are filled with replacement casements or single-light double-hung sashes. The main entrance features a multi-light glass and wood door. There is a small open ell porch with large round arches and a decorative twisted stone column with foliated capital. A bay window projects from the main elevation. It is filled with casements and clad with a panel of rusticated stone veneer. There is a matching two-car garage with period garage doors. The interior has much of its plan intact, although not all of the first floor was visible on the photographs. Beyond the main entrance is a foyer with an original multi-colored ceramic tile floor and a rib vault style ceiling with an original lantern style light fixture. What is seen of the first floor shows plaster walls and ceilings and original oak trim and doors. Most photos show the second floor and it has an intact plan. There are plaster walls and ceilings, some painted and stained trim, and stained one-panel doors with original fixtures. Most floors are laid with narrow board, stained wood, but in a few areas there is carpeting. The bathroom has a tile floor and an original built-in cabinet.
