NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the State Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. GREENE WAS THE SPRING GREEN POSTMASTER FROM 11/5/1857-10/22/1859.

2012- "This previously inventoried Gabled Ell house is located on the south side of East Jefferson Street, immediately west of
South Albany Street (Figure 3). Erected ca. 1858,1 the two-story house rises from a stone foundation, faces north and is
oriented parallel to East Jefferson Street. The house is finished with narrow board siding. The cross-gable roof is
sheathed with asphalt shingles. A large two-story addition and one-story addition extend from the south-facing (rear)
fac;ade; both are contemporary but built of complimentary materials. Although complimentary, the additions have
somewhat disguised the original Gable Ell form of the house. The fenestration throughout the house includes singlespaced,
replacement, double-hung windows. The building's construction displays the influence of the ltalianate style in its
heavily molded door and window surrounds, accented with pedimented cornices."
