NOTES
Additional Information:MAP CODE IS 071007222244. Bridge was replaced in 1997. The current bridge reproduces the appearance of the 1916 bridge. Total length is 91.9 feet; span is 60 feet.

"The original bridge was built in 1916 as one of several Yahara River bridges intended as "beauty spots" for the Yahara River Parkway that bordered the river between lakes Mendota and Monona. The Parkway was the brainchild of John Olin, the driving force behind Madison's earliest and most beautiful parks. The bridge had to be replaced because of severe deterioration. A replica in the neoclassical style was designed by Strand Associates." "Preserving the Past" Wisconsin State Journal 5/10/1998.
