NOTES
Additional Information:Built ca. 1903-1910. Multi-paned long rectangular windows; east service door; exposed foundation at rear and west side. Construction similar to 206 E. Central (18-27). RUSTICATED SANDSTONE. Exhibiting the Classic vernacular rectangular shape with flat roof, simple rectangular windows and no historic ornament, this structure, used for a lock factory in the first decade of the 20th century, (A) features a similar method of construction to the other structures built by William Lister during the same period such as the apartment house at 206 E. Central (CH18-27) (A). The former lock factory also used by a Hosiery Jobbing Company (A) in the early 20th century, is architecturally significant as a well-preserved representative of a small industrial building and as a representative of earlier stone construction as well. Built sometime between 1903 and 1910, this building was a lock factory in 1910 (A). The 1924 Sanborn Insurance Map describes the factory as a motor cycle repair shop (D). In 1929 the factory manufactured hosiery (C).
