Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property named 'Bowler Ranger Station'. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Constructed in circa 1939, this retaining wall and wood beam bridge features an irregular shaped plan configuration, an earthen foundation, cut stone and log exterior walls, and a wood trim. The retaining walls run along the bank of creek; also present are decorative water aggitation. The structure, which was built and designed by the WPA/DNR, is in excellent condition. Other related buildings include the ranger station, pump house and bridges. (See Map Codes 6/18, 6/19, Photo Code 6/20). 2023: The property's stone retaining walls were constructed by the WPA between 1937 and 1938. A cut stone wall runs along the southeast edge of the driveway and parking area in front of the ranger station building. It has a concrete coping. It is part of the Bowler Ranger Station.
