Additional Information: | Massive corbeled brick cornice extending around north side wth parapets, battlements, and triangular shaped pediment with "Rising Sun" design in the pediment and round arched formation below articulated with brick work white stone and half round window. Tri-angular pediment shaped flat, stone window heads over long windows; white stone accents; completely altered store front. Important to the architectural variety of the commercial area because it has maintained the exceptionally elaborate detailing influence of the Romanesque Revival on its upper story. Unfortunately, the lower story has been greatly altered. Originally owned by Eric Thorstad, who had it constructed for his use as a grocery store. 2017 UPDATE - FIRST FLOOR FACADE HAS BEEN RESTORED WITH CAST IRON POSTS AND TALL WINDOWS |
