Additional Information: | Moved from original location at 403 S. 11th in 1998. Original map code is 46/10 on LC-EM 2. Intersecting hip roof; cross gables with stick ornament in gable and visually supported by large brackets; rectangular corner bay with hip roof and stick articulation; two sided roofed porch with arched entrtance opening and groved post supports; rounded decorative exposed rafter ends, two story rear addition. Also referred to as the Clarence Hawley House. 2015- "The Frank Tiffany House is a modest interpretation of the Queen Anne style with a hip-roofed two-story mass, central gable ornamented with a segmented half-round window, and wood shingle cladding. The two-story rectangular bay and wide, open porch are additional Queen Anne elements. The rounded refter ends and narrow white strips on the central gable and corner bay are Late Victorian Stick details that add distinction to the overall appearance." -"La Crosse, Wisconsin: 10th & Cass Residential Historic District Tour", Prepared by Eric J. Wheeler, (2015). |
