| Additional Information: | Two story gabled roofed at front and west side; stick style ornament in gable ends; open shed roofed porch with pedimented gable and supported by turned posts with capitals; stained glass windows; shed roofed dormer with bracketed eaves and decorative shingles. Unusual profile to the gables. Built in 1888 for Andrew Meyer, a local tailor and later owned by the Henry Buell family, the house is characterized by the medieval mode of the Queen Anne style including multiple gable roofs, "stick style" ornament, bracketed eaves and decorative shingles. The Meyer-Buell House is characterized further by stained glass windows, an unsual shed roofed dromer and an open porch. The Meyer-Buell House is architecturally significant as one of a group of three good examples of the Queen Anne styled houses built in the 1880's in Chippewa Falls. Built 1888-1889. |
